Two friends went to a temple. They wished to submit a prayer to God.

The first one said,” Oh God! Really I should thank you. I am not like others. Other people steal money. They cheat others and tell lies. You see God, I am a kind man. I show kindness to poor. You are my life. I am your true devotee.”

He further said,” But God, do you see my friend who has come with me? He is a deceiver. He is a humbug. I am not like him.”

The second person then prayed,” Oh, Lord! You are the master of this world. Please show me kindness. I am a sinner. So please forgive me.”

God liked the prayer of the second person. He forgave him. The friend went away in peace. But the first person did not get anything. Do you know why?

God never likes a person who blows his own trumpet. But he likes people who are humble. It is good to be in silence in front of God.
